Howie Carr
Host of New England's premier talk radio show, syndicated across 26 stations. Author of 13 books on Boston crime and politics, and longtime Boston Herald columnist.

The First Host-Owned Radio Network in New England
In 2015, Howie Carr took control of his own destiny by launching The Howie Carr Radio Network, establishing the very first host-owned radio network in New England. What began with a few stations in Massachusetts rapidly expanded into more than twenty-six terrestrial radio stations spanning Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Today, The Howie Carr Radio Network is the only radio network reaching a majority of the fourteen million people living in New England.
Investigative Journalist, Bestselling Author, and Hall of Famer
Howie Carr is the New York Times best-selling author of The Brothers Bulger and Hitman, in addition to several other Boston organized-crime books and two novels. He is a member of the prestigious Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago and has won a National Magazine Award for Boston Magazine.
Boston organized-crime boss Whitey Bulger was so infuriated by Carr’s groundbreaking reporting that he once put out a murder contract on Carr, a chilling story later detailed on 60 Minutes. At his 2013 trial on murder and racketeering charges, Bulger tried to have Carr banned from the courtroom by calling him as a defense witness. Before he was brutally murdered in a gangland hit, the crime czar still said his greatest regret was not murdering Carr when he had the chance.
Carr once taught a journalism course at Harvard University, where he famously had to cross a picket line against himself just to get to his class.
